American automaker Ford is truly concerned about its drivers around the country and worldwide. When a string of vicious tornadoes hit the U.S. recently, Ford knew it had to find some way to contribute. That's why the company is directly contributing $75-thousand to the American Red Cross and local chapters that were impacted by these storms, as well as the Dare to Care Food Bank in Louisville, KY. Along with this large contribution, Ford will also match donations by its employees, which include donation collections at Louisville Assembly, Kentucky Truck, and Sharonville Transmission plants. The total expected contribution is expected to be around $100,000.
Jim Vella, President of Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services, says it all when he states, "Our hearts go out to our neighbors in the wake of these destructive tornadoes. We are ready to help those impacted by this tragedy."1 Ford has partnered with the American Red Cross for more than thirty years now, and it's support of the Dare to Care Food Bank includes its recent donation of a refrigerator-cooled Ford F-550 truck to aid Newman's Own and Feeding America programs through its Partnership for Hunger Relief.
